Coxios vs Coolify
Two ways to deploy on your own server. Coolify installs a web panel on the VPS; Coxios stays on your computer and starts by securing the machine.

What really changes
Nothing to maintain on the server
Coolify is a full application on your VPS: you have to update it, monitor it and protect it. Coxios connects over SSH from your computer, so your server only runs your apps.
Security first
Before deploying, Coxios sets up 8 protections and shows you each step: a dedicated user instead of root, SSH key, firewall, fail2ban, automatic updates.
No panel to attack
A web dashboard reachable from the Internet is one more door to guard. With Coxios, your access stays on your computer.
Which one should you pick?
Pick Coolify if…
- you want an open source tool you can audit and modify
- you need a large catalog of ready-to-run services
- your team must deploy from a browser without installing an app
- you are comfortable maintaining and securing the platform yourself
Pick Coxios if…
- you don't want to touch the terminal, even to secure the server
- you'd rather expose nothing but your apps to the Internet
- you have a small VPS and want to keep its memory for your projects
- you want a hardened server and a live app in minutes
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Coxios on a server that already runs Coolify?
We don't recommend it: both tools want to manage the proxy and ports 80 and 443. The simplest path is a fresh VPS, or a server without Coolify.
Does Coxios install an agent on my server?
No, Coxios drives your server over SSH from your computer. The only exception, and only if you turn it on: auto-deploy on every push installs a small webhook receiver.
Coolify is free, why pay for Coxios?
Coxios is free for one server too. Paid plans are for managing several servers and getting support. What you mostly pay for is never having to secure or maintain the tool yourself.
How do I pay?
By card or PayPal, through Lemon Squeezy. You can cancel anytime from your account.
