Coxios vs Vercel
Vercel hosts your app on its platform. Coxios helps you host it on your own server, at a fixed price, without having to learn system administration.

Why move to your own server
A bill that doesn't move
A VPS costs the same every month, even if your app hits the news. No traffic-driven surprises.
Everything in one place
Your app, database, workers and tools (n8n, Plausible…) run side by side on the same server.
Secure from day one
Security is what holds people back from a VPS. Coxios sets up the firewall, fail2ban, key-only login and HTTPS for you.
Which one should you pick?
Pick Vercel if…
- you mostly build Next.js or static sites
- you want automatic previews for every branch
- your audience is global and latency matters everywhere
- you want no server at all, not even a managed one
Pick Coxios if…
- you want a fixed, predictable bill
- your app needs background jobs, WebSockets or a local database
- you want to keep your data on a server you own
- you want to host several projects on one VPS
Frequently asked questions
Will my Next.js app work on my VPS?
Yes. Coxios detects Next.js, generates the Dockerfile and sets up HTTPS. You lose Vercel-specific features (global CDN, branch previews), not your app.
Which VPS should I get?
For a few small apps, a VPS with 2 to 4 GB of RAM from Hetzner, OVH or another provider is enough. Coxios works with any provider that gives you SSH access.
How do I pay for Coxios?
By card or PayPal, through Lemon Squeezy, monthly or yearly. The free plan covers one server.
